Lagos State Police Command Parades Suspected Killers Of Newspaper Editor

The Lagos State Police Command today paraded an armed robbery gang, who confessed to have killed a former Assistant Editor of Newswatch newspapers, Mr. Toyin Obadina, in one of their operations.

According to the police, the six-man gang are Adeshina Festus, Sunday Samuel, Ibrahim Adeokin, Babatunde Makinde while the remaining two- identified simply as Oke and Benjamin were killed by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad detectives during another operation.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the police that they were responsible for the killing of the owner of a Toyota Salon car.

The police thereafter discovered that the victim was Mr. Obadina, the Newswatch Assistant Editor.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr.Cornelius Aderanti, while warning criminally minded people to desist from their acts, said, despite the fact that investigations into the murder took months, the police were able to eventually apprehend the suspects.
