Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has told the Presidential Advisory Committee on Conference and Dialogue that the exercise is unnecessary as it is not likely to solve the various challenges facing the country.
Governor Oshiomhole while playing host to members of the committee who were in government house on a courtesy visit says he has no faith in the exercise.
Governor Oshiomhole who expressed reservation about the exercise said there are many challenges and critical issues facing the country that require attention rather than diverting energy on talking.
For instance, he said the country should be thinking of moving beyond export based economy to an industrialized nation to provide employment and create wealth.
The governor said dialogue will not provide the much desired solution to Nigeria’s problems adding that there are no indication that the exercise will not go the way of the other eleven conferences held in the past.
Earlier, Chairman, Presidential Advisory Committee on Conference and Dialogue, Senator Femi Okunronmu said they are in Edo State to consult the people of the state on issues concerning the country in accordance with their terms of reference.
The committee is visiting two states in a zone.
