The Chief Judge of Edo State, Justice Esohe Ikponmwen has enjoined lawyers to be abreast with the tenets of the new administration of criminal justice in Nigeria so as to offer better services to humanity.
Justice Ikponmwen made the call while declaring open the 2018 annual law week of the Nigeria Bar Association, Ekpoma branch.

Chief Judge of Edo State, Justice Esohe Ikponmwen who expressed reservation over treatment meted to suspect by police in the wake of the new criminal justice system tasked chief magistrates to intensify routine inspection of police cell in their jurisdiction to ensure that suspect are not detained unjustifiably.
While commending the vibrancy of the Ekpoma BAR for their exemplary conduct, the chief judge tasked lawyers to be alive to their responsibilities and live above board.
Chairman on the occasion, Professor Ambrose Ekpu congratulated NBA, Ekpoma branch For a successful law week, which has again reminded the practitioners of their oath of service.
On his part, Chairman NBA, Ekpoma branch, Osehon Irehovbude said the lecture and other activities of the week has helped the lawyers to be refreshed and ready for another year of practice.
Edo State Commissioner for Education, Barrister Emmanuel Agbale and some guests described the event as remarkable.
Activities for the law week organized by Ekpoma branch of the NBA, climaxed with a dinner which had dignitaries in attendance.
