NNPC sets to recover 130m litres of petrol from two operators

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation says it has taken measures to recover one hundred and thirty million litres of petrol from two downstream oil operators over operational infraction.

NNPC Chief Operating Officer, Downstream, Mr. Henry Ikem-Obih made this known in a statement by the Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Ndu Ughamadu.

Mr. Ikem-Obih said the one hundred and thirty million litres would be recovered from facilities of two indigenous operators, adding that the Nigerian Products Marketing Company, a subsidiary of NNPC has been ordered to send additional trucks to those locations to move the products for distribution aimed at meeting a supply shortfall discovered in the market.

He said that NNPC alerted the Directorate of State Service, the Economic Financial Crime Commission and relevant committees of National Assembly with oversight function on the corporation’s downstream operation to help recover the assets.
