Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has directed that the construction of NYSC Orientation Permanent Camp in Okada be completed.
Governor Obaseki, gave the directive, during the swearing-in of 2017 Batch A Stream Two Corps members.
Edo state Chief Judge, represented by Justice Anthony Erhaibor administering oath on the corps members.
In an address, Edo state Governor, Godwin Obaseki said the NYSC scheme was designed to serve as a medium for national unity and integration. The state governor represented by his deputy Comrade Philip Shabu said the NYSC scheme helps to deploy professionals and graduates to different sectors in the country.
He urged the corps members to be prepared to make sacrifices expected from them.
Edo state commissioner for Youth and Special Duties and Chairman, NYSC Governing board, Mika Amanokha said the three week orientation programme is expected to expose the corps members to series of lectures, skill acquisition, para-military exercises, parades and leadership training.
While the Edo state NYSC Coordinator, Yusuf Abdullahi congratulated the corps members for successfully completing their academic pursuits, which qualified them for the national service.
Highpoint was signing of the oath register by representatives of various platoons on behalf of other corps members.

There was cultural display to entertain guests at the event. A total of one thousand, nine hundred and twenty corps members subscribed to the oath.
