The Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolor, Oba Ewuare the Second has enjoined the Danish Ambassador to Nigeria Torben Guttermann to use his office to put up policies to discourage human trafficking.
Oba Ewuare the Second who made the call when the Danish Ambassador paid him a courtesy visit said if there was no demand, there would not be supply pointing out that human trafficking and illegal migration has become a global phenomenon which must be tackled through concerted effort.
The Oba of Benin, also has charged the new Edo State Police Commissioner, Johnson Babatunde Kokumo to tackle the misuse of police personnel by some individuals to arrest and intimidate other citizens.
The Omo N’Oba who gave the charge when the Police Commissioner paid him a courtesy visit also drew attention of the commission to the menace of herdsmen in the state with a view of tackling their excesses.
