Ondo State Government Condemns Attack On Sunshine Stars

The Ondo State Government has described the attack on players and officials of Sunshine Stars Football Club, as an  unwarranted aggression.

Addressing Journalists in Akure, Ondo state commissioner for sports, Saka Ogunleye explained that the quarter final match between Ondo Sunshine Stars Football Club and Osun United Football Club last Saturday degenerated into a brawl where Ondo State supporters club and players were injured.

The commissioner explained that the second leg of the match played on Saturday at the Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu-Ode started peacefully but degenerated into a brawl at the end of the match.

He alleged that supporters of Osun United attacked sunshine supporters and players injuring two.

The Commissioner, assured that the attack would not in any way, affect the excellent performance and concentration of players and officials of Sunshine Stars in future matches.

Department of NFF, the police and other relevant authorities according to information made available to newsmen disciplinary have commenced investigation into the incident.
