Esan indigenes, traditional rulers and dignitaries from across the globe converged on Ewatto Esan South East Local Government Area, Edo state for the historic thirtieth coronation anniversary of His Royal Highness Osajie Ikhumen the First, the Onojie of Ewatto.
Kingsley Uchegbu reports that the event commenced with a thanksgiving mass at saint Anthony Catholic church, Eguare, Ewatto.
Special thanksgiving by his Highness Osajie Ikhumhen the first, the Enogie of Ewatto in appreciation to God on his thirty years on the throne of his forefathers as he was joined by an endless queue of family members, representatives of the Esama of Benin Sir Chief, Dr. Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion.

In a sermon Catholic Bishop of Uromi Diocese , His lordship , Most Revd. Donatus Ogun described the thirtieth year coronation anniversary of the onojie of Ewatto, HRH Ikhumen the first as a celebration of Gods grace, peace, growth and development in ewatto.
The Church in appreciation of the good works of the Onogie presented him a gift.
Activities continued at the palace ground where Ewatto sons and daughters, guests and dignitaries gathered in a carnival like event to celebrate the Onogie ‘s three decades on the throne.
The ceremony also attracted Chiefs from the palace of the Oba of Benin, the Enijie in esanland, Otaru of Auchi and traditional rulers from Edo North, chairman , Delta state council of traditional rulers , Efeizomor II, Obi of Owa.Ovie of Uvwie, HRM Emmanuel Sideso,
The Esama of Benin,Sir Chief Dr. Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion represented by Oliha of Usen ,Chief Omatsebi Ajayi and Chief Eson Guobadia amongst others.
Guests at the event described the Onogie as a steadfast man whose reign has brought peace and development to Ewatto.
Some deserving Ewatto sons who included a former P.S.Ministry of Foreign Affairs , Ambassador Martins Uhomoibhi were honored by the Onogie as part of his coronation anniversary.
