Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom and the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno have met behind closed doors at part of efforts to find a lasting solution to incessant killings allegedly by herdsmen in Benue State.
The meeting, which lasted over an hour, was held inside the Acting President’s office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom told State House correspondents after the meeting that improvement was being noticed in the security situation in the affected parts of the state following interventions by security agencies.
He said any time Benue State Government makes request, from the police, DSS or Civil Defence, they are ready to augment what is on ground, stressing that it is a positive result.
Governor Ortom added that herdsmen and the farmers in Benue State are now cooperating.
