PMB directs AGF to intervene in Zainab Aliyu’s detention in Saudi Arabia

President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami to immediately intervene in the case of Zainab Aliyu.

Ms Aliyu is a Nigerian student detained in Saudi Arabia after hard drugs were found in a bag labelled in her name at a Saudi airport.

The Federal government, through the drug-enforcement agency, NDLEA, has since said Ms Aliyu was a victim of a cartel at the Aminu Kano airport in Kano.

The cartel allegedly specialises in placing hard drugs in bags in the names of air travellers, to their destination countries.

The Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora matters, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, disclosed President  Buhari’s directive in a statement made available to Newsmen
