President Goodluck Jonathan is expected to host ten Nigerian-Americans to a special lunch, in the United States of America, who are believed to have done Nigeria proud in that country.
Those to be honoured by the president in a New York hotel are winners of the Top ten Nigerian-Americans Award instituted by the Christian Association of Nigerian-Americans.
According to Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States, Professor Ade Adefuye, the Christian Association of Nigerian-Americans top ten winners and other eminent Nigerians and professionals would be present at the special luncheon and the winners would be introduced to President Goodluck Jonathan.
Professor Adefuye said that the award process has been thorough, adding that it showcases some of the best Nigerians in the Diaspora.
President of the Christian Group, Doctor James Fadele said Nigerian-Americans should no longer wait for other people to define them nor wait until the next negative illustration on their behalf but should have the ability to showcase who they are.
Winners of the award are picked from a pool of nominees drawn from the Nigerian community in the US and scrutinized by panel of eight prominent US based Nigerians.
