Prof. Jega Says National Assembly Members Notorious For Bribe Seeking

Former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega, has accused members of the National Assembly of seeking for bribes to carry out their constitutional duties.

Speaking while delivering the year’s Democracy Day lecture at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, on Monday, Mr Jega said chairmen of the numerous committees in the National Assembly demand for bribe with impunity

ITV Statehouse Correspondent Ikharo Attah reports that President Muhammadu Buhari after listening to professor Jega’s lecture say he wondered why the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, left out a Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godsday Orubebe, in the 2018 Democracy Day Lecture.
