Pst. Ize-Iyamu debunks claims of being under pressure to accept defeat

Candidate of the All Progressives Congress in last Saturday’s governorship election in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has debunked claims that he is under pressure from party leaders to accept defeat.

Pastor Ize-Iyamu stated this while reacting to a report in some newspapers and urged the various media agencies to desist from speculative reporting.

The APC candidate in a statement signed by his Director of Communication and Media, Mr. John Mayaki said he was shocked to see a report saying he appealed to Governor Obaseki to return to APC after the election.

He restated that he never begged him to return after the election and deliberately did not reply when he saw the rumour on the social media with people tagging him.

Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, however, said he decided to react when he saw another report in the media that APC leaders are mounting pressure on him to accept defeat.

According to him, the National leadership of his party, never mounted any pressure on him and wondered where they got their information from, adding that the public reposes a lot of trust in the media for authentic information.

Meanwhile Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu reiterated his earlier position that he is yet to make up his mind on the next step to take, stressing that he is studying the result and consulting widely on his next line of action.
