Senate Passes Bill Into Law Declaring JUNE 12 As National Democracy Day

A bill declaring June 12 as Nigeria’s Democracy day has been passed by the senate.
The public holiday act bill is one of 6 bills Put up for concurrence on the senate’s order paper.
The passage followed the presentation of the short title of the said Bill along with other bills for concurrence as well as a session of the Committee of a Whole where a clause-by-clause consideration of the Bill was carried out by the Senators.
The bill was passed by the House of Representatives December last year in honor of Late MKO Abiloa who contested in the annulled June 12, 1993 Presidential elections.
