Inter-school sporting activities have been described as one of the ways to discourage secondary school students from involving in social vices.
Edo state Commissioner for Education, Doctor Christopher Adesotu and some sports enthusiasts made the remark during the maiden edition of Sports competition organized by a sport promoter, Nicholas Ehioghiren at Iguobazuwa grammar school in Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo State.

Students of both the Junior and senior secondary school arms of the school struggle it out on 100 and 200 meters races for male and female categories as they battle for medals while the junior and senior secondary schools students have to compete for a trophy in the football category.
Welcoming guests to the event chairman on the occasion, Mr Idiaghe thanked the sponsor Mr Nicholas Ehioghiren for his effort in trying to bring the talent of the students to lime light
Edo State Commissioner for Education, Doctor Christopher Adesotu on his part said the gesture is commendable and sued for its continuity.
Commenting on the reasons for the sport fiesta, the sponsor and one time games prefect of Iguobazuwa Grammar School, Mr Nicholas Ehioghiren is to engage the students creatively and showcase their talents to the world.
Other guests and principals of the school including the president old students’ association iguobazuwa grammar school Pastor Godwin Amadasun and some of the competitors comment.
High point of the event was the presentation of trophy to the senior secondary schools team who defeated the junior team by one goal to zero while medals were awarded to the young athletes, officials and some guests including the Edo State Commissioner for Education, Doctor Christopher Adesoto.
