Strike Suspension: Medical Activities Set To Bounce Back At UBTH

Medical activities at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital will soon bounce back as striking resident doctors called off their nationwide strike today.

Confirming the end of the strike, President, Association of Resident Doctors, UBTH branch, Doctor Oseghale Eustace said resident doctors in the hospital will be resuming work at eight am tomorrow. Aigboje Ikhuoria has details

Some patients and their family members while commending the resident doctors for seeing reasons on why they should return to work said with their resumption patients in the hospital will now get adequate attention.The patients who commended consultants for holding forth during the strike said it will be better to have more hands on the ground to attend to emergency medical needs of patients.

President of the resident doctors UBTH branch doctor Oseghale Eustace who spoke in a telephone interview said the strike has been called off and assured that the doc tors will resume duty on Friday

Commenting off camera acting public relations officer UBTH Joshua Uwaila said the striking doctors have done the right thing by putting the Heath needs of the people into consideration
