Former Borno State Governor, Ali Modu Sherif has challenged those linking him with the Boko Haram sect to provide evidence or remain silent.
Modu Sherif made the call at a press conference Wednesday in Abuja
The former governor said the authenticity of the purported report by federal government’s negotiator linking him was in no doubt untrue
On remarks about him by the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief John Oyegun, he queried why APC retained his membership having known him to be a sponsor of the extremist group
The former governor however commended the Federal Government’s and Armed Forces effort in curtailing the activities of the sect
It would be recalled that a purported Australian Boko Haram negotiator hired by the Federal Government had listed former Chief of Army Staff, LT General Azubuike Ihejirika and the former Borno State Governor as possible sponsors of the Boko Haram sect
