Traditional Marriage Rites Of May And Odaro Omoruyi Holds In Benin City

The culture of the Benin and that of Etsako people of Edo State were on display at the Traditional Marriage of Miss May Ochuwa Akhigbe and Odaro Eddie Omoniyi.

Pius Nsogho reports that the ceremony attracted relatives, friends and well-wishers from both families, including the General Superintendent, Christ Apostolic Church of God Mission, Doctor Godspower Ogbonwan.
The bride, May Akhigbe being handed over to the groom, Odaro Eddie Omoniyi after meeting all traditional marriage requirements.

Earlier on arrival at the bride’s family residence, the groom accompanied by his parents and family members explained the purpose of their mission. Having been received, both families went into keen negotiations, according to tradition.
After the marriage rites, it was time for the couple to meet with other dignitaries and guests who were waiting to receive them at the reception ground.

Their first public assignment together as they cut their wedding cake and fed each other.
Some family members and guests described the event as unique and wish the couple a blissful union, while parents of both groom and bride expressed satisfaction with the success of the traditional ceremony.

The bride May Akhigbe and groom Odaro Eddie Omoniyi expressed gratitude to God.
Odaro Omoniyi is the Son fo a Benin Based Business man and C.E.O. Uyi feelnical conglomerate Sir Francis Uyi Omoruyi Olotun. While the bride May is the daughter of an America based lawyer Barrister James Akhigbe. The church wedding of Ochuwa May Akhigbe and Odaro Eddie Omoniyi will hold on Saturday at Firm Foundation International 5, Oregbenu crescent off Aideya Street off Ihama road, GRA Bnein City.
