Training programme for ad hoc staff for Esan North East election concluded – EDSIEC

Edo State Independent Electoral Commission, EDSIEC says it has concluded the training programme for ad hoc staff to conduct election in Esan North East Local Government Area where election was inconclusive.

The Director of information, EDSIEC Mr. Isaac Irabor made this known while fielding questions from Independent Television on the level of preparedness for the conduct of the election.

The Director of Information, EDSIEC, Mr. Isaac Irabor said the Commission is determined to conduct a free and fair election in Esan North East Local Government and some Wards in four Local government areas where election was inconclusive.

Mr. Irabor said a new electoral officer, Mr. Festus Ekomado has since been appointed to conduct the rescheduled election in Esan North-East local government election.

He explained that the Commission has concluded the training of ad hoc staff who will play various roles in the conduct of the election.

Mr. Irabor also said the electoral officers for the conduct of election into some Wards in four local government areas remain unchanged.

He stated that the affected local government areas are Uhunmwode Ward 8, Ovia North East Ward 9 and 11, Etsako West Ward 3 and 4 and Etsako Central Ward 6.

Edo State Local Government election was conducted on the 20th of April, 2013.
