Tukur resigns as PDP National Chairman

After months of intrigues and political maneuvering, the National Chairman of People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur today bowed to pressure and resigned from his position.

Reports say Alhaji Tukur has tendered his letter of resignation to President Goodluck Jonathan.

The president is expected to read a letter to members of the National Caucus of the party when they reconvene.

  1. If it is true, it will be good riddance of a bad product. President Jonathan was the only one that saw Tukur as useful in the party.However, the bad that has been done to PDP cannot be undone. The best party members, loyal I mean, have deserted the party. It is easier to destroy than to repair. It is not good to be too self-centered. Bamaga Tukur saw himself as indispensable. Can the party bring back those who have already left or are just trying to make sure many more do not go away. The handwriting is already on the wall.
